As promised, some of
the extra cash earned from the ads on the site has been passed
to Bob Wilson's charity for young people with terminal diseases, set up as a memorial to the double-winning Arsenal keeper's daughter Anna who passed away just over a year ago.
You can find more information about the Willow Foundation
here.
I've sent them £120 of the excess ad revenue, plus
£80 which Private Eye gave us for the Hoey Hooey
ministerial turncoat exposé.
Obviously the amount we can afford to give away like this
will vary as our expenses and revenue vary (the amount the
ads bring in each month is extremely unpredictable). But
there is some more available now, so for that as well as for
the future I'd be glad to hear good ideas for worthy
recipients. Please email me if you can think of one. It seems appropriate to limit it to charities with
a connection to Arsenal FC, football in general, or the Highbury
area.
I'd particularly like to hear from anyone who knows anything about the Kanu Foundation (?) which apparently helps Nigerian kids in some way, or the Arsenal Charitable Trust (run by the club).
See new Charities page for
some suggestions that have come in already.
Many thanks to all our readers, both regular and occasional,
for your continued support. It has enabled ArseWeb to get
to the point where we can not only pay our expenses but also
do our small bit to help spread a bit of your Gooner goodness.
