I'm still gathering info but for the sake of argument let's say it'd cost you 15p per day (up front, natch), depending on how much was going on.

It'd be really helpful to get some idea of how many people would definitely be interested, because there would be an initial outlay required on my part. So please email me your thoughts with "SMS" in the subject-line (the link should do it automatically).

My feeling is that such a service would be more inclusive than WAP (everyone's mobile accepts SMS) and that for big news people might prefer to be alerted to it rather than having to go looking for it.

Incidentally, for matchday news (line-ups, scores) AFCi's SMS service is very worthwhile, as is GiveUsTheScore for goal-flashes. So we wouldn't be looking to replicate this information, and the idea would NOT be to send you every absurd rumour that came along like some other services do.
