New Arsenal text message services by Rupe

Arseweb regulars will have noticed the O2 ads we've been running recently. O2, of course, are the mobile network providers who this summer showed the height of good taste by sponsoring our beloved team. But their association with the club goes much further than simply having their logo on the shirt.

O2 are running a range of Arsenal text message services in association with the club, and we recommend that anyone wanting Arsenal news sent to their mobile check out the services available at http://www.arsenal.com/mobile/. The services are now available to users of all mobile networks.

First, there's Arsenal Match text. You can get all the latest match day news as it happens, direct to your mobile. Previews, team line-ups and all the goals. It doesn't matter where you are, 02 can bring the match to you. Just text 'ALERT MATCH ON' to 83202 to kick off.

They can also send you up-to-the-minute news from Highbury, including transfers, injury updates and fixtures. Text 'ALERT NEWS ON' to 83202 for all the latest, including goal alerts and half and full time reports.

For more information about 02's range of services, click on the link above (or on the ads above or the button to the right). O2's terms and charges apply, and are detailed on their pages.

We have recently had to stop supplying the ArseText SMS news service, unfortunately we never had enough subscribers to make it economic for us, and at the end of the day it was one of the things detracting from our ability to keep the website side of things running as smoothly as it used to.

We regret having to make this decision, but the O2 services should more than make up for it.

Please do let us know how you get on with it. We'll forward any comments to the people at O2.
