"Manchester United may have been the team of three decades but the 20th century title belongs elsewhere"
We've finally been able to complete our archive of The
Independent's article from January 2000 which declared Arsenal the team of the 1900s.
Our Team of the Century page now contains the article, together with
the full overall 100-year league table as well as decade-by-decade versions.
Thanks to Ben Fairweather and Tom Chipchase for finding the
bits we were missing.
While I'm drawing your attention to Arseweb updates, please note that the famous Arseweb Celebrity Gooners page has received another batch of updates. And we've also archived the text of an Evening Standard article from
1999, which marked Man Utd's historic and stomach-churning
treble by celebrating Arsenal's triumph of 10 years before
(you can find it from our Anfield '89
page).
And for foreign Arseweb fans I'd like to draw your attention to the Babelfish panel on the bottom right of this page (and all
newsreel pages). It enables translation of the page into various other languages, just by pressing the appropriate flag. Babelfish is also very useful for translating foreign-language pages into English. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the
results. But at least when they're not quite right, they're often amusing.
And I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that I know the links section is well out of date. I have a huge list of updates to go through and it's going to take a while. It's going to have to take a back seat compared to keeping the news etc up to date!
