Our sources report that one of Arsenal's promising
youngsters Rhys Weston is to be called up for the
full Welsh squad for their friendly against Brasil (and thus,
hopefully, Silvinho) on Tuesday. Weston excelled in his first
Arsenal match, the Worthington cup match at Middlesbrough in November
and could be pushing Matthew Upson and Gilles Grimandi for a reserve centre-back spot before long. Weston & Upson: the next Adams & Bould/Keown? We can only hope that they stick around
long enough! The England pair have a few years left, we reckon.
I've not seen the call-up confirmed yet but anyway, it gives ArseWeb
the chance to wish all the Arsenal reserves all the best for
their Arsenal futures. Arsenal will carry on bringing in
big name players, but we're optimistic that the great work
Liam Bardy's doing will see some home-grown players coming
through soon too.
