Another day, another supposedly promising youngster leaves Highbury. This time it's defender Brian McGovern, off to join Delia Smith at Norwich City on a month's loan... 'with a view to a permanent transfer' whatever that means.

It's a second loan spell away from Highbury for the lad, after a few months last winter at QPR. And before you get too worked up about English youngsters not getting a chance in the first team... he's Irish.

It comes only a day after a Norwich side beat an Arsenal side in a pre-season afternoon friendly. The Gooners came back from 3-0 to tie the game, but conceded a fourth late on. Looking at the Norwich team though, the game wasn't a serious affair - only one player played in both halves!
