Arsenal Ladies continued their awesome start to the season this weekend, with a 10-0 (yes, ten-nil) win away to Liverpool.
Jane Ludlow started it on 15 minutes, Caiara Grant also got one, and Marianne Spacey scored twice. But it was Angela Banks who
continued to show that we're not missing Rachel Yankey, with 4 goals taking her season's tally to 9 in 4 games. The other 2 goals came from Liverpool's keeper and a defender. Just to put in in
perspective, Liverpool Ladies have now lost 4 out of 4.
Doncaster Belles won 3-1 at home to Southampton, so they visit Borehamwood next Sunday (kick-off 2pm) with the leadership of the league very much at stake. Looks like it could develop into a 2-horse race very quickly. The other favourites Charlton Athletic (formerly Croydon) finally started their season this weekend, but could only draw 0-0
with Tranmere.
