FA Premier reserve league south, Tue 14 November 2000
Coventry City 3 Arsenal 2
Arsenal scorers: Wreh 7, own goal 16
Arsenal were two up after barely quarter of an hour, but Coventry got an equaliser with 6 minutes left, and the winner in stoppage time. See AFCi for a report, and the ArseWeb reserve team page for more stats and table.
The important thing to know about this match was that it saw the return to action of second-choice keeper Alex Manninger. He played the full 90 minutes and made a world-class save on 70. It'll be interesting to see if he gets
the nod over John Lukic for Saturday's game at Everton. Not yet, we suspect. But it's got to be good news that he's playing again.
Robert Pires also started the match. He played 72 minutes
and had a few good moments, not appearing to have any problems with his hamstring.
