 Ladies Cup Matches by Mark

Here is the latest on the Arsenal Ladies and their current tour of the cups:

London County Cup -

The Ladies reserve team beat Southwark 8-0 on Sunday in the semi final. The final itself is on Wednesday April 11th (venue as yet unknown to Arseweb) and will be against the professionals of Fulham. Thus it could be a first team turnout.

League Cup -

The semi-final for this against Charlton away should have happened last Sunday but due to various reasons it was postponed. It is therefore highly likely to take place this Sunday 11th with a 2pm kickoff at Gravesend and Northfleet (on the A226 - west of Gravesend). Therefore the re-arranged home league match against Doncaster Belles (postponed from last September because of the then fuel crisis) which was scheduled for this Sunday will be re-arranged again. Winners will play Tranmere Rovers in the final. Watch this space later on in the week for confirmation of the game.

FA Cup -

The semi-final for this is against Bristol Rovers at their mens Memorial Ground on Sunday March 25th with a 3pm kickoff. There isn't a mens game on this day as the men of England will be taking on the men of Finland at Anfield on the Saturday 24th. Coach travel is being organised by the Arsenal Ladies to Bristol at £10 return from Highbury. Please contact Ciara Grant on 0207-704-4149 for further details. Bristol Rovers are expecting 4,000 local supporters so let's match that! Directions to the Memorial Ground will be available nearer the date from Arseweb for those travelling independantly. For your information Bristol Rovers Ladies are currently fourth in the South West Combination League - this is two league's below Arsenal. Winners of this semi-final will play the winners of the other semi-final between Southampton and professional Fulham (at Kingstonian - also on Sunday March 25th - also 3pm kickoff) in the final at Selhurst Park on Monday May 7th.
