Final score from the Memorial Ground, Bristol in the Ladies FA Cup Semi-final:
Bristol Rovers Ladies - 0 Arsenal Ladies - 3
Just over 3,300 people (a record for a Ladies FA Cup semi-final) saw Bristol Rovers from the South West Combination League (two leagues below Arsenal) hold out to the might of our Ladies until the second half. Some determined defending, excellent saves from the Gasheads (Bristol Rovers nickname) goalkeeper (who was named player of the match) and the woodwork kept Arsenal out until midway through the second half when Angela Banks finally broke the deadlock. This was quickly followed by goals from Jayne Ludlow and Ciara Grant.
Arsenal Ladies will now face the professionals of Fulham (who beat Southampton 5-0 in the other semi-final) in the FA Cup Final at Selhurst Park on Bank Holiday Monday May 7th.
