Arsenal (2) 3 - 4 (1) Ipswich
Highbury, Thursday 5th April 2001
FA Youth Cup semi-final, first leg
Arsenal looked to have secured a come-back draw
when Jeremie Aladiere completed his hattrick at the
death, but Ipswich went on to score a winner in injury
time with a stunning Darren Bent effort.
Arsenal went ahead twice in the first half, but Town hit us with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes of the second. Pennant, who had a good game overall, missed a sitter.
Aladiere scored his third with a minute to go, and there was still time before Ipswich's winner for him to come close to a 4th of his own.
Arsenal have their work cut out if they're to retain their trophy.
