FA Premier Academy league U19, playoff semi-final
Queens Park Rangers 1 Arsenal 1
QPR win 4-3 on penalties
Arsenal scorer: Itonga
The under-19s lost a hard fought game at the QPR training ground in Acton on Saturday. The young Gunners took the lead in the first half and without playing well, generally carved out the better chances, but were denied by mixture of bad luck and the QPR keeper Bull. He made at least 4 great saves and Arsenal hit the bar 3 times before the penalty shootout, where the young keeper again distinguished himself, making 3 more brilliant saves. Report now up, QPR go on to meet Nottingham Forest (2-0 winners over Everton) in the final.
The Arsenal youngsters must now pick themselves up for the return leg of the FA Youth cup semi-final against Ipswich tomorrow. The game is at Portman Road and kicks off at 7pm. Arsenal must overturn a 4-3 deficit from the first leg.
