Dennis Bergkamp played 73 minutes of tonight's reserve team win over Tottenham at Higbbury.
Bergkamp scored one of 4 unanswered Arsenal goals, the others coming from Mendez and Malz (2). It was
obviously a strong Arsenal side, but still a good result against a Spurs side that have been flying since ex Arsenal coach Theo Foley joined them, including in last week's match with Arsenal at White Hart Lane.
So good has their run been, in fact, that if Arsenal hadn't beaten them in this match they could have won the reserve league.
After the game Dennis declared himself ready for Saturday. But
given that the other 3 strikers are available and their fitness
more secure, it's possible that Dennis will miss the final again.
Ray Parlour's problems have not been so severe as Dennis's,
and unlike Dennis he did come off the bench against Leeds on Saturday. Ray also played the reserve match, lasting the full 90 minutes, and said after that there's no reason not to pick him
for the final.
