We can't help feeling that Arsenal were taking the mick a bit, picking Dennis Bergkamp, Kanu, Martin Keown, Ray Parlour and Lauren for the reserves on Monday night - just to ensure the humiliation of Tottenham.
Kanu got two goals, one (encouragingly) from the penalty spot to go with strikes from Bergkamp and Inamoto as the Gunners romped to a 4-0 victory.
'Colin Calderwood's young reserve side put up a brave fight,' says the official Spurs website - before listing six players away on 'international duty'... none of whom would come into the 'household names' category, we must say.
More details from the Spurs and Arsenal official sites. |
