Arsenal Ladies are through to the quarter-finals of the
inaugural Women's UEFA Cup.
They won their final group game in Berne this evening 2-1 against
Polish side Wroclaw, despite going 1-0 down to a 4th minute penalty.
It was a tough game, with Wroclaw's tactics being decidely unladylike. Arsenal only equalised on 75 minutes through Anglea Banks, from a great reverse pass by Marianne Spacey. Spacey herself got
the winner 5 minutes later, a penalty which she'd won herself.
The quarter-final will be a 2-legged affair sometime in March.
The opponents will be one of Toulouse, Ayr Utd, Legend Cheksil (Ukraine), and Osijek (Croatia), whose group play their matches in November. Spacey will be suspended from the first match after picking up a booking.
