this is story 390 of 741 in this topic to date
Arsenal Ladies will take on the San Jose CyberRays on June 11th in Oklahoma. The San Jose CyberRays are currently the equivalent Premiership champions in the US of A.

The following is taken from their website - www.sanjosecyberrays.com

"The WUSA champion San Jose CyberRays will play their first-ever international match this season in a game marking the initial meeting of the reigning champions of U.S. and English women's soccer.
The CyberRays will play Arsenal Ladies FC on June 11 in Tulsa, Okla., benefiting the Tulsa Thunder Soccer Club's future soccer training academy, in the first Tulsa Thunder Cup.
"For the first time we'll get to see the best women's soccer teams from the United States and England in what we're calling 'The Women's TransAtlantic Soccer Challenge,' " said Steve Myles, the Thunder's assistant director of coaching.
"This is an important match in the evolution of women's soccer from league to international club competition," CyberRays general manager Marlene Bjornsrud said. "Plus, it'll be a lot of fun playing the top team from the country that gave the sport of soccer to the world."
Arsenal Football Club was formed in 1886 among the munitions workers at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich, Kent, in North London and is one of the most successful of all English clubs, having remained in the nation's top division since 1919. Arsenal Ladies FC was created in 1987 and has won 16 major trophies in 14 seasons of play. In the 2000-2001 season, Arsenal Ladies won the FA Cup, the League Cup and the National League, the so-called Treble, a feat achieved only once before, in 1993, also by Arsenal.
Following Sunday's 6-0 victory over Barry Town, Arsenal is 10-0 in the current Women's Premier League season. Arsenal plays the French club Toulouse on Saturday in the first leg of the semifinals of the UEFA Women's Cup.
In 2001, the CyberRays won the inaugural season championship of the WUSA - the world's only fully professional women's soccer league.
Tickets for the CyberRays-Arsenal match are $12. Information is available from the Tulsa Thunder Soccer Club at 918 / 582-6001."
