Ray Parlour turned out for the reserves last night,
captaining them to a 4-1 win over Charlton, and
putting him in contention for a place in the team
to face Tottenham on Saturday.
Parlour and Jeffers, who played 90 and 45 minutes respectively, were the only first-teamers on view.
Charlton took the lead after 10 minutes when Sean Bartlett
capitalised on a mistake by Tavlaridis. Arsenal's
equaliser on the half-hour was a spectacular 20-yarder
from Junichi Inamoto.
Goals a few minutes before and after the break took us
3-1 up. First Jeremie Aliadiere from 10 yards, Pennant supplying the cross, and then Pennant from the spot after Juan was fouled in
the box.
Sub Jermaine Brown got the 4th near the end from another
Pennant cross , and it's worth noting that Inamoto was
involved in the build-up to the 3rd and 4th goals as well
as scoring the 1st.
