FA Premier Academy League U17 playoff,
Sat 6 April 2002
Arsenal 2 West Ham 1
The under-19s win I believe virtually guarantees them a place in the semi-finals of the U19 playoffs. Group winners go directly through to the semis and Arsenal top their group with a 6 point lead over 2nd placed Chelsea who have only 2 games left and a goal difference inferior by 17 goals.
The under-17s meanwhile have won both games so far of their 4 team playoff group and need only a draw in their last game against 2nd placed Nottingham Forest to progress to the quarter finals.
