Final score from St. Albans:
Arsenal Ladies - 7 Eendracht Aalst - 0
A frustrating first half in which our Ladies went in at half time only 1-0 up through Jayne "Freddie" Ludlow (remember the opposition had already lost their previous two games both by 8-0). However in the second half it was much different and the Ladies powered their way to victory with a further two goals from Freddie Ludlow, a brace for Ellen Maggs and one apiece for Ciara Grant and Alex Scott.
In the other game the team from Spain beat the Azerbajan team by 2-1.
A quick check with the UEFA website and Arseweb are pretty sure that in the knockout stage for the quarter-final that our Ladies will play the Russian champions - CSK WE Samora - the first leg is on October 28th and the second leg on December 15th. We're not sure yet which is the home tie but we're sure the Ladies will be packing the thermals for the away one!.
