Mrtin Keown played 67 minutes of the reserve match against Watford on Monday night, before being forced off with a
"slight neck strain". According to the Arsenal.com report, it is "not expected to hamper his progress too much".
Watford won the first half, scoring their goal on 18 minutes after one of their strikers got the better of Keown before squaring for the other to score from 8 yards out.
Arsenal played a lot better in the second half, and equalised
through Icelander Olafur-Ingi Skulason 10 minutes afetr the break, after good work from David Bentley and Alex Bailey. The latter had replaced Moritz Volz at right back at half-time, and it was his cross which Skulason header in.
Still, we were a little lucky to get the point, with keeper Craig Holloway twice doing well to deny Foley a second goal,
one time a deflection of ex-Gunner Paolo Vernazza's shot.
Apart from Keown, Kolo Toure was the only first-teamer in action.
Kolo played awhile up front, so he's just got to play at centreback and
goalkeeper to complete his collection.
It was Keown's first game for 2 months, since the
walloping of PSV in Eindhoven, and it raises our hopes that he'll be able to play against Man Utd in 2 weeks time.
Sounds like he's not ready just yet, though.
