Arsenal Ladies are safely through to the semi-finals of the Ladies UEFA Cup which will be a two-legged affair in April against the winners of Trondheim versus Fortuna Hjjoring.
The final score on Thursday night was Arsenal - 1 Samara (Russia) - 1 with Ellen Maggs scoring early on for Arsenal and Samara equalising shortly afterwards. However the damage was done in the first leg with Arsenal winning 2-0 and so they go through 3-1 on aggregate.
The Ladies next game is tommorrow (Sunday 1st) and is the re-arranged League Cup Quarter final against Tranmere Rovers with the winners to face Doncaster Belles away in the semi-final in January. The game against Tranmere Rovers is scheduled for a 2pm kickoff at St. Albans but it might get switched at the last moment to Potters Bar if the St. Albans pitch is waterlogged. Arseweb recommend that you phone St. Albans football club on 01727-864296 beforehand. |
