The loan signing of Steven Sidwell is proving to be an
inspired move by Brighton boss Steve Coppell.
Not content with scoring the goal in a surprise 1-0 win at Norwich on Boxing Day
(only Albions 2nd away win of the season), he popped up with
2 goals at home to Burnley today.
See Ananova report.
What makes it particularly remarkable is that Brighton were 2-0 down with 2 minutes to go. Sidwell linked up twice with Albion's
highly-rated striker Bobby Zamora in the space of 45 seconds.
This excellent fan's report describes the first as a "solo peach" and the 2nd as "scrambled".
Coppell took Sidwell on loand last season too, when he was boss at Brentford. He says "Steve has a big future ahead of him. He's stronger and fitter than last year when I had him at Brentford. I hope he's getting a good education with us." We hope he gets a
chance to show what he can do at Arsenal one of these days.
