FA Premier Academy League U19, Sat 15 March 2003
Charlton Athletic 1 Arsenal 2
Arsenal scorers: Shiels, Larsson
A fifth win in a row for the under-19s maintains a four point lead at the top of the table, though 2nd placed Villa kept up the pressure with a 3-0 win over 3rd place Ipswich. According to this report on the official Charlton site, it was a scrappy match played in difficult conditions. The young Gunners fought back from being 1-0 down at half time, and now need 2 wins from their remaining three league matches to ensure qualification for the playoff semi-finals.
The under-17s did not play this weekend having completed their league program. The U17 playoffs start next weekend, with mini-groups of 4 determined by league finishing position. News of Arsenal's group when we have it. See the ArseWeb youth team page for tables and further stats. |
