FA Premier Academy League U17 playoff, Sat 22 March 2003
Arsenal 0 Sheffield Wednesday 2
The under-19s failed to overcome Reading at the Shenley training ground on Saturday, and are now just two points clear of rivals Aston Villa, who won narrowly at Wimbledon and have a game in hand. Next Saturday's game at Ipswich becomes a must-win, with the potential title decider against Villa the following week.
Meanwhile the under-17s playoff got off to a bad start against Sheffield Wednesday, and means the young Gunners must their next game at Bristol City in 2 weeks to stand any chance of reaching the quarter finals. In the mini-group's other game, Wolves beat Bristol City 3-2.
