FA Premier Academy League U17 playoffs, Sat 5 April 2003
Bristol City 0 Arsenal 3
The under-19s were beaten by their rivals for the title at the Shenley training ground yesterday. Needing a win to keep their hopes of a playoff semi-final place alive, they subsided to their 2nd successive defeat and thus finish 2nd in the league they had led for the whole season.
The under-17s meanwhile kept their hopes of a playoff place alive with a convincing win at Bristol City. They now need to win the final mini-league playoff game in 3 weeks against Wolves by at least 2 goals, and hope that Sheffield Wednesday fail to beat Bristol City by 4 goals.
