Arsenal opened the scoring in the first minute through young Leanne Sanderson. Charlton Ladies equalised midway through the first half and then took the lead at the start of the second half. Arsenal Ladies then had Leanne Champ sent off for a second bookable offence before a late equaliser from Angela Banks (who retired for a year but then couldn't resist putting the boots on again) shared the spoils after a mistake from the Charlton Ladies goalkeeper.

Next up for the Ladies is the away game against Fulham next Sunday 29th August (with a 2pm kickoff at Motspur Park) followed by a rearranged League Cup game at home to Sunderland on Sept 5th. (This game has been moved forward a week because the Arsenal Ladies will then be playing in the Ladies UEFA Cup the following week. The previously arranged away game against Liverpool will be moved to the end of the season)
