FA Premier Reserve League South, Mon 10 Jan 2004
Arsenal 4 West Ham United 2
Arsenal scorers: Bendtner 22,59, Stokes 85, Quincy 89
Two late goals earned a young Gunners side a hard fought victory against an equally youthful Hammers eleven. Pascal Cygan was the sole old, bald head amongst the youngsters, making his comeback after injury. The young Irons twice took the lead only for Arsenal to snatch victory in the last 5 minutes.
Elsewhere, 4th placed Palace beat leaders Charlton, while 3rd placed Southampton beat 2nd placed Spurs to allow Arsenal to move up to 4th and leave 3 points covering the top five. See the report on Arsenal.com for more details, and check the ArseWeb reserve team page for the updated table and full stats.
Rupe adds...
For what it's worth, a mate who was at the game told me last night that Simek, O'Donnell, Smith and Quincy all looked pretty good, and that Cygan was rubbish. |
