Coventry City 1 Arsenal 0
An Arsenal side missing some regulars (away on U21 international duty - see below) lost to a late goal by former Gunner Graham Barrett at Rugby Town FC's ground last night. The team nevertheless featured David Bentley, Manuel Almunia and new signing Alexandre Song, making his competitive debut in an Arsenal shirt, but couldn't build on the win in the first game of the season last week against Crystal Palace. See
this Coventry site for a report, and check the ArseWeb reserve team page for the updated table and full stats.
Reserve team regulars Gael Clichy, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and Patrick Cregg all played for their international under-21 sides last night. Clichy played the full 90 minutes in France's 2-2 draw with Italy, Quincy started for the Dutch U21s in their 2-1 win in Belgium, and Cregg likewise started for the Republic of Ireland in the 2-2 draw against their counterparts from Northern Ireland.
