Arsenal Ladies continued their unbeaten run in the Ladies Premiership with a 6-1 win away at Fulham yesterday (Sunday).
Rachel Yankey opened the scoring before Kelly Smith hit a brace with Lianne Sanderson, Faye White and an own goal adding to the tally. Ex-Gunner Justine Lorton scored for Fulham.
The other scores from the Ladies Premiership were:
Doncaster Rovers Belles WFC 4 v 1 Birmingham City Ladies FC
Charlton Athletic LFC 2 v 0 Leeds United LFC
Everton LFC 5 v 0 Chelsea LFC
Sunderland WFC 3 v 1 Bristol Academy WFC
And so the table looks like this:
1 Arsenal FC Ladies 4 12
2 Charlton Athletic LFC 3 9
3 Everton LFC 3 7
4 Sunderland WFC 3 7
5 Doncaster Rovers Belles WFC 4 6
6 Leeds United LFC 4 3
7 Bristol Academy WFC 4 2
8 Fulham FC Ladies 4 1
9 Chelsea LFC 4 1
10 Birmingham City Ladies FC 1 0
The scheduled "top of the table" clash with Charlton that should have been played this Wednesday night has been postponed due to international call-ups after which the Ladies will be travelling to Denmark to take part in the opening group phase of the Ladies UEFA Cup. This means the backlog of fixtures has already started and it's not even because of waterlogged pitches.........!
