Arsenal Ladies stormed their way into the semi-finals of the Ladies FA Cup in atrocious weather at the ground of Hampton and Richmond Borough today by beating Chelsea Ladies by 6-1. The game was cancelled last week due to a water-logged pitch but one wonders why as the pitch was just as bad today. The goals were a brace for both Julie Fleeting and Kellie Smith with the other two goals coming from Rachel Yankey MBE and Lianne Sanderson.
Our Ladies will now face Charlton Ladies at a "neutral" venue for the semi-final on March 12th.
Upcoming games for the Ladies are this Wednesday with the London County Cup semi final against Long Lane Addeyans with a 7:45pm kickoff at Potters Bar and then the Premiership home game against Fulham next Sunday with a 2pm kickoff at Borehamwood. |
