Arsenal Ladies beat newly-promoted Blackburn Rovers Ladies away by 3-0 in the first game of the Ladies Premiership. The goals were a brace from Kelly Smith with the other one being scored by Julie Fleeting.
Other scores in the first day were:
Fulham WFC 0 v 5 Chelsea LFC
Charlton Athletic LFC 1 v 2 Everton LFC
Birmingham City Ladies FC 2 v 0 Sunderland WFC
And so the table looks like this (yep Arsenal aren't top on the first day.......sadly its typical Chelsea!):
1 Chelsea LFC 1 3
2 Arsenal FC Ladies 1 3
3 Birmingham City Ladies FC 1 3
4 Everton LFC 1 3
5 Doncaster Rovers Belles WFC 0 0
6 Leeds United LFC 0 0
7 Cardiff City LFC 0 0
8 Bristol Academy WFC 0 0
9 Charlton Athletic LFC 1 0
10 Sunderland WFC 1 0
11 Blackburn Rovers LFC 1 0
12 Fulham WFC 1 0
The Ladies next game is at home to bottom-placed Fulham Ladies this Sunday August 27th with a 2pm kickoff at Borehamwood.
