Black Cats stuffed by Arsenal Ladies by Mark

Final score from Borehamwood:

Arsenal Ladies - 6 Sunderland Ladies - 0

Arsenal Ladies destroyed Sunderland Ladies with goals coming from Lianne Sanderson with a hat-trick, a brace from Rachel Yankey and the other goal coming from Karen Carney.

However the game was marred by an injury to a young Sunderland defender, 16 year old Lyndsey Fletcher, who collapsed at the end of the first half with an agonising dislocated knee. The start of the second half was delayed by 50 minutes whilst she was taken on a stretcher to hospital by ambulance. We at Arseweb hope she is on the mend and able to travel home back to Sunderland soon.

Other results from the Ladies Premiership:

Bristol Academy 2-1 Birmingham City
Charlton Athletic 3-0 Doncaster Rovers Belles
Chelsea 3-0 Cardiff City
Leeds United 5-2 Blackburn Rovers

And so the Ladies Premiership looks like this with Arsenal staying top:

1 Arsenal FC Ladies 6 18
2 Charlton Athletic LFC 7 16
3 Leeds United LFC 5 13
4 Bristol Academy WFC 6 12
5 Birmingham City Ladies FC 7 10
6 Chelsea LFC 5 9
7 Doncaster Rovers Belles WFC 6 9
8 Cardiff City LFC 7 8
9 Everton LFC 5 7
10 Blackburn Rovers LFC 6 4
11 Sunderland WFC 7 4
12 Fulham WFC 9 0

The Ladies next game is the away leg of the UEFA Cup Ladies Semi-Final against Brondby next Saturday Nov 4th with a 1pm kickoff in Brondby.
