The draw has been made for the semi finals of the Axa sponsored
Women's FA Cup, in which Arsenal Ladies will be
defending the trophy.
- Arsenal Ladies vs Doncaster Belles
- venue: Mansfield Town FC Saturday 25th March kick-off 5:35
- Leeds United vs Croydon
- venue to be confirmed. Sunday 26th march kick-off 2pm
The Arsenal game will be shown live on Sky Sports, the first time that a WFA Cup semi has been shown in full. There is fortunately
no clash with the men's team, as our game at home
to Coventry has been moved to the Sunday in case of a
UEFA
Cup quarter final the Thursday before (if we get
past Deportivo).
So Arsenal Ladies will be live on telly 2 Saturday evenings in a row.
The following week they play Croydon in the League Cup final
of which Arsenal are also current holders. In fact, they've won both major cups in both of the last 2 seasons!
Unfortunately, that final does clash (effectively), as the men are
playing at Wimbledon that afternoon.
See also this news
page from the FA site, and previous newsreel item for
stuff about the League and London Cups (Arsenal are in both finals) as well as the quarter-final of this one.
