Today's Mirror reckons that Cardiff City will ask Arsenal to move the 5th round FA Cup game to Wembley - assuming they manage to beat Sheffield Utd in their 4th round replay. It's Cardiff's centenary season, and they are keen to arrange some sort of celebration fixture, a rematch of the 1927 FA Cup final which the Welsh won 1-0. Apparently they already approached Arsenal asking for a friendly game at Ninian Park, but they reckon this would be more fun. Even if the FA were content to devalue Wembley even further, it would be interesting to see if we are keen to go back there, after the criticisms which followed the Champions League games. |
