Fifth round might not be so easy by Rupe

Neither Arsenal nor Manchester Utd will have it so easy in the 5th round of the FA Cup, with the drawing havign set up an Old Trafford show-down between the title favourites (....and Man Utd).

Arsenal cruised to a 5-1 4th round win over Farnborough Town, while United's opponents looked far less up for it as West Ham crashed out 6-0.

The last FA Cup meeting between the sides was the 1999 semi-final at Villa Park, which went to a replay. Schmeichel saved a late penalty by Bergkamp and then Vieira let Giggs in to score that flukey goal they're always showing on telly. The last 5th round meeting was a 2-1 win for Arsenal at Highbury, 15 years ago, when Brian McClair failed from the penalty spot (equally late in the game, but McClair's was a woeful miss rather than a save). Our last visit to Old Trafford was of course the 2-0 loss which was the end of our record-breaking run of scoring in every match, but the time before that.....

The matches are on February 15th & 16th. We don't know when the Arsenal game will be yet, but I've a feeling it might be picked for the telly. Arsenal play Ajax on the Tuesday following, so the chances are that the FA Cup tie will be on the Saturday rather than the Sunday, maybe at lunchtime...

Full draw:

Man Utd v Arsenal
Soton/Millwall v Norwich
Palace/Liverpool v Gillingham/Leeds
Wolves v Rochdale
Fulham v Burnley
Stoke v Chelsea
Blackb'n/Sund'd v Watford
Sheff Utd v Walsall
