Following Saturday's quarter-final win over Bolton, Arsenal have been drawn against Blackburn Rovers in the semi-final.
The other semi is between Manchester and Newcastle Uniteds.
Seems like my insistence that Man Utd would get Blackburn did the trick ;) There's a dress-rehearsal this Saturday lunchtime when Arsenal travel to Ewood Park. We have met Rovers 5 times in the FA Cup, and are 3-2 up so far (see details on official site). The last of these meetings was the 3-0 home non-contest in the quarter-final of 2001, when we went 2-0 up in the first 5 minutes. The last one before that was a an away loss by the same scoreline in the 3rd round of 1965-66.
For some dumb reason, both matches are to be played on the weekend of 16th/17th Spril, at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. More details when we get them. (Actually the reason is probably to get us used to both semis being at the same venue as the final, which is obviously going to happen once the new Wembley opens).
The away match at Everton, scheduled for that weekend, will be rearranged.
A couple of other matches have been rescheduled to Mondays due to Sky televisualisation. The home match against Tottenham has been moved to Monday 25th, and the trip to West Brom to Monday 2nd May. Both of these kick off at 8pm. The final match of the season (along with all the other final matches) has been moved to Sunday 15th May. See Arseweb calendar for full fixture list.
