UEFA madness: Toon in Europe already!

According to Soccernet, UEFA have told Newcastle that they've already won the UEFA Cup place allocated to FA Cup winners, despite not having won the semi against Tottenham yet.
This is because Spurs are in it already and both Man Utd and Arsenal are expected to qualify for Europe via the league.
