Arsenal vs Blackpool NOT on the telly by Rupe

Sorry for misleading you previously, but when the club says a game is being covered by Sky we tend to believe them. Especially when it's been moved to a Monday evening.

Anyway, according to the updated AFCi page, the Arsenal vs Blackpool match on Monday 13th December is definitely NOT being shown on Sky Sports. As you can see on the Sky Schedule, they're covering Ipswich vs Southampton, and who can blame them? (should be a close one)

The true reason for our match being on the Monday evening is simply to allow recovery time after the UEFA Cup match in Nantes the Thursday before. We couldn't move it to the Sunday because Newcastle are beating Tottenham then at WHL, and the Police won't allow both North Kondon teams to move home matches to the same afternoon. So we have Blackpool to thank for agreeing to the change (unless they were told it was for televisation too, in which case we have them to apologise to!).

Of course, having won the first leg against Nantes 3-0 it's not so clear that we'll need all that recovery time, and it's possible that we'll have a Worthington Cup quarter-final 2 days after the Blackpool game (depending on what happens tonight). So perhaps we'd have been better off playing Blackpool at the weekend. I suspect their fans having to travel to and from London on a Monday would agree.
