Arsenal (1) 3 - 1 (1) Blackpool
Highbury, Monday 13th December 1999
FA Cup 3rd round.
We should have scored a hatful in the first half but
Blackpool defended well and kept the tie alive till
the dying seconds. The amazing Gilles Grimandi opened
the scoring with his 3rd in 3 games, a long-range blast
right out of the blue. Their equaliser was just as good,
and much more unexpected.
Adams put us ahead again halfway through the second half,
but as the 3rd failed to arrive it got more and more nervy,
and only when Overmars (finally!) scored in the 90th minute
did it become clear that this wasn't going to be one of
theose dreadful nights (which the presence of David Lee on
the Blackpool wing kept reminding us of).

Home to Leicester or Hereford in the next round.
