Leicester City 0 - 0 Arsenal
(after extra time, Leicester win 6-5 on pens)
Filbert Street, Wednesday 19th January 2000
FA Cup 4th round replay
Not a great game. After a terrible first half on both
sides, Arsenal had the better of the rest of the match.
But Leicester's makeshift side battled well, Arsenal missed
their chances, Flowers made some good saves, Savage cleared
off the line, and it came down to penalties.
Seaman made
a great save with the last of the 5 to cancel out Dixon's
poor saved effort, but the second round of sudden death
saw Heskey up against Grimandi. While Grimandi is a great defender (he and Keown dealt with Heskey well all night) who has popped up with some good goals this season, a natural goalscorer he is not. Still, it took a good save from substitute
keeper Arphexad.
This was the Foxes' third penalty shoot-out win of the season.
They face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the next round. Arsenal
join Man Utd in having a day off.
