Queen's Park Rangers (0) 0 - 6 (2) Arsenal
Loftus Road, Saturday 27th January 2001
FA Cup 4th round
Arsenal took the lead on the half-hour when a harmless-looking Lee Dixon cross was turned into his own net by Rs defender Plummer.
It was a killer blow, as Rangers had been holding their own
and felt that they'd just had a good goal disallowed. Ashley Cole hooked Crouch's header out, and Rangers appealed that it had crossed the line. Looking forward to Match of the Day...
A minute later Wiltord made it 2. But we had the home side to thank again as a huge deflection took it in.
Shortly after half-time and they only went and did it again.
Cole crossed this time, and Arsenal old-boy Matthew Rose beat Wiltord to put it in the net.
It might have been a bit embarassing to get the biggest win of the round with all the goals effectively scored by the opposition. So it was a relief to see us get a clean one at last. Quite nice it was too, Wiltord whacking home a corner with a first-time volley.
Pires and Bergkamp made it 6 towards the end. But Rangers will have already been praying for the
whistle for some time.
