ASSE 2 Nancy 1, match played on Aug, 21st - Summer signing A. Dias de Almeyda aka Alex hit the headlines (and the post too) in his first appearance for feeder club AS Saint-Etienne.
He came on as a sub 25 minutes from time, showed typical Brazilian skills, and levelled the score 10 mins later thanks to Aloisio who, between two AS Nancy defenders, sent him through by flicking on a high ball. Alex then set up the winner from the left handside for his fellow Brazilian to simply tap the ball in into the net.
Sedan 3 ASSE 2 - Yesterday, Saint-Etienne were leading 2-0 at newly promoted Sedan in a game they lost 3-2 in injury time. Les Verts took the lead through a Pape Sarr shot before Aloisio headed a second from a corner. They were without suspended centre-back Mettomo and stand-in defender Hernandez got sent-off 25 mins from time.
Brazilian striker Aloisio has now scored 4 goals in 5, and set up 3 other Saint-Etienne goals.
In turn, ASSE have agreed a partnership deal with Parisian Third Division Club Red Star.
