Tonight' s game was played to raise funds for 'SOS Children' s Villages', one charity our Robert Pires is the patron. France strolled and won easily 5-1 (Trezeguet 3, Pires, LeBrat offside) R. Baggio scored the consolation goal from the penalty spot. Curtain raiser for this friendly game was France Ladies against their English counterparts and ended in a 0-0 draw (Not sure about the score, but ex-Goonerette Rachel Yankey was playing)
On the Gooners front : TH12 looked very lively, was everywhere on both wings before he was substituted at half-time. Pires came on at HT for Manu Petit and PV4 on for Deschamps after 60 mins. Wiltord was in the squad but didn't play. No injuries to be reported.
Pires main concerns at the time being are to learn English and to find a house : he' s currently living at Vieira' s casa.
On to the Grondin topic : Young David seems to play a (left?) midfielder role this season for Cannes and has been an ever-present so far. Although he didn' t score, Cannes' equalizer in their 3 all draw at Ajaccio came during injury time from a DG' s free-kick. Could it be another case of a former left-back who gains recognition in midfield?
