on 12/12/00 at 15:02
this is story 58 of 104 in this topic to date
Further to what Rupe wrote earlier here are the full results of the Onze Mondial annual awards (as long as Gooners are concerned that is) :

Onze d' Or : ZZ (42,38%) the winner, well ahead of Figo (18,95%) Our TH14 is third with 14,45% of the votes.

Left-back : Roberto Carlos won easily (71.50%) but young Silvinho finished fourth of the poll between Maldini and Candela, far above Dennis Irwin...

Defensive midfielder : Paddy is second to Davids.

Offensive midfielder : Bob Pires finished 7th in the competition, well behind ZZ and Figo to name but a few.

Forwards : TH14 won easily with more than one third of the votes. Second is one certain former Gunner now at PSG with 9.30%. Sylvain W. is joint 13th with Filippo Inzaghi (1.35%) whilst DB10 stands just behind with 1.30%.

Manager : yup, our Arsène won just ahead of Roger Lemerre. Sir AF is third, SG Eriksson fourth.

So the European team of the year according to Onze Mondial readers reads as follows :

Manager of the year : AW
Barthez - Thuram, Blanc, Desailly, Roberto Carlos - Davids, Mendieta - Zidane, Figo - Henry, Anelka.
