Just to complete what Allan (and Reuters) wrote previously Thierry Henry when asked if he was thinking of joining new pastures said "This (current season) failure gives me the incentive to stay at Arsenal. I feel good here and the fans are great. I really want Arsenal to grow at European level"
At the light of the recent rumours about Manu coming back home, here are a few quotes from the lad France Football published one month ago :
"I' ll know by the end of this season whether I was wrong or not (to sign for Barca) [...] I' ll draw conclusions in May or June.
On Wenger he said : "Spanish press and some (Barca) club directors and players asked me what kind of a man he is, on and off the pitch : he is a guy who is deeply involved in football, who immediately sees the needs for any improvement and knows what to do from A to Z. This is his big quality and always does it for the good of the club. He makes people who he is in charge of better, he' s gifted for that. But he wants to have his hands free, that' s the case at Arsenal [...] not at Barcelona. This is why I can' t imagine he will sign here.
On his Highbury last (?) days :
"I went through bad times and should he have asked me whether I wanted to leave Arsenal or not, he would have known and guess of my thoughts... even if he was thinking that I was not committed (to The cause, Ed) and that he couldn' t rely on me anymore. I have days off like everyone and need comfort sometimes. He knows me for more than ten years now, he should have held talks with me. I would have appreciate that. The way I left England is still an enigma to me. |
