Nigerian striker Kanu will not defend his Olympic gold medal in Sydney in September. Manager Arsène Wenger has made it clear to Sky Sports that there is no way the 24-year-old forward, who returned to London this week, will go to the Olympic tournament.

The story spread after a BBC story was reported the day before yesterday.

"It is [Kanu's] decision, and his priority is with Arsenal for the coming season," Wenger said.
