Former Arsenal reserve David Platt is to travel to Spain with the England Under-18 side as what appears to be a 'work experience placement'! The U18s are competing in a 4-way qualifying group for the UEFA finals during the summer, and Platty is to join the party as a 'coach'. There seems to be a building consensus that the FA have long-term plans to involve him in the overall England setup; PA/SL quote rumours that suggest he might be asked to lead the U20 side to the world youth championships in Nigeria in a few weeks' time. |
