Full marks to our boy Kanu, currently facing allegations of treachery from Nigeria's sports ambassador John Fashanu. He has given a response, rightly pointing out that Super-Patriot Fashanu opted to play for England, and not the Super-Eagles.
'He has no right to criticise me when I have given so much to the country I love,' said Kanu before the Chelsea game. 'All of my life I have given 100% to the cause of helping Nigerian football. Of course I would be proud to represent Nigeria at the Sydney Olympics but I also owe a debt to Arsenal who pay my wages and indeed Arsene Wenger, who has resurrected my career. John Fashanu's statements have only strengthened my resolve.'
Couldn't have put it better ourselves.
