A summary of the involvement of Arsenal players in the recent bout of international friendly matches.
England
Ray Parlour, David Seaman and Ashley Cole were all in Sven Goran Eriksson's first squad. Parlour had to withdraw with a hamstring injury, Seaman didn't make the playing squad for the game against Spain, Cole was on the bench but didn't get onto the pitch. England won 3-0.
France
Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires, Thierry Henry and Sylvain Wiltord were all in the French squad for the 1-0 friendly win over Germany. Vieira played the full 90 minutes (in midfield tandem with his old mate Petit), Wiltord started the game and was replaced in the second half by Pires, Henry also came onto the pitch as a 2nd half sub for Anelka.
Sweden
Fredrik Ljungberg played in Sweden's 3-0 win over Malta, setting up one of the goals for Henrik Larssen.
Cameroon
Lauren was in the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Zambia, which Cameroon won 1-0, but as far as we can ascertain didn't play.
ArseWeb reader Tim writes from Japan to tell us that reports in an English language paper there say that not only did Lauren play, he set up the goal for Mboma.
Latvia
Igors Stepanovs was in the squad for the friendly 2-0 win over Liechtenstein, but again we believe he didn't play.
Argentina
Nelson Vivas played the full 90 minutes of Argentina's 2-1 win over Italy.
Brasil
We believe Silvinho is in Brasil's squad for the friendly 2 match tour of North America. Brasil play the US on March 3 and Mexico on March 7.
Austria
Alex Manninger played in Austria's 1-0 defeat at the hands of Croatia.
Lithuania
Tomas Danilevicius was in Lithunia's squad for the 4 team friendly tournament in Cyprus. He played as sub and scored in the 2-1 win over the hosts, and then also came on as sub in the 3-0 final defeat against Romania.
Ukraine
Ukraine were playing in the same tournament but Oleg Luzhny stayed with Arsenal to play in that game last weekend.
England youth
Matthew Upson came on as a 2nd half substitute in England's 4-0 defeat to Spain in an under 21 international friendly.
Jermaine Pennant and Rohan Ricketts both played in the England under 18 team which drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in a friendly at Stevenage last night. Pennant apparently set up the England goal for West Ham's Jermaine Defoe, see this report on the Stevenage site, and this one on the FA site.
Ryan Garry also played in a friendly against the Netherlands, for the England under 17 side. See this report on the FA site on the 1-1 draw.
