Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Patrick Vieira and Sylvain Wiltord have been named in the French squad to face Portugal in a friendly in Paris next Wednesday (25 April). Freddie Ljungberg is also likely to play in a friendly the same day, for Sweden against Switzerland.
Kanu and Lauren are both on World Cup duty this weekend, the former for Nigeria against Sierra Leone on Saturday, the latter for Cameroon against Libya on Sunday.
Alex Manninger and Igors Stepanovs are also in the squads for World Cup qualifiers next week on the 25 April, for Austria against Liechtenstein and Latvia against San Marino respectively.
Jermaine Pennant and Rohan Ricketts have been named in the England under 18 squad for the European Championship qualifier 2nd leg against Poland next Thursday (26 April). England lost the home leg 1-0, and if they overcome the Poles in the return match in Gdansk they qualify for the 8 team finals in July.
Schoolboy central defender Justin Hoyte is in the England squad for the European Under-16 championships which are being played in the north of England starting on Sunday. England are in a group with Hungary, Switzerland and Italy.
